Foot orthoses or as they are called ‘orthotics’ are shoe inserts designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position.
Orthotics may be prescribed to you by the podiatrist after a comprehensive assessment, and considering your biomechanics, footwear, occupational and lifestyle factors.
Orthotics are often prescribed to correct the structural alignment of the feet and ankle, therefore, reducing excess strain on joints, ligaments and muscles that can cause pain or lead to injury over time.
They may also be prescribed to redistribute pressure on the feet, aiding in the long-term treatment and prevention of corns, calluses and ulceration.
While all good podiatrists can prescribe and fit an orthotic, we believe our working knowledge and hands-on-experience of the prescription, manufacture and fitting of custom orthotics provides our patients with a quality product and experience.
Our on-site laboratory facilities mean we can finetune your orthotics during the fitting consultation and follow up consultation to achieve an excellent fit and most importantly, ensure they are comfortable.
